Starting Strong: New Hires Reflect on Three Weeks of Growth and What’s Next

In April, our new hires took their first step into the professional world. Amid a mix of excitement and uncertainty, they completed a three-week training program designed to establish a strong foundation for their careers.

Through sessions on business fundamentals, presentations from department leaders, and site visits, they developed a deeper understanding of the company and began to form a clearer picture of their future roles.

On the final day, we spoke with three employees heading to assignments outside the prefecture.

Each comes from a different background, yet all have started to grow through new experiences and connections.

Their reflections offer insight and inspiration for those about to start their own journey.

Taking the First Step with Purpose: Ms. O

I was initially told there would be no formal training, which makes me especially grateful for the past three weeks. The program gave me the time and structure to prepare for this transition in a meaningful way.

I used this period to reflect on my daily habits and developed a clearer understanding of the mindset and accountability required of a professional.

One of the most impactful experiences was participating in external training sessions.

From exchanging business cards to learning about the roles and perspectives of colleagues across departments, I gained a much broader view of how an organization functions.

Following this program, I will begin my assignment in Iwakuni.

I know there will be challenges ahead, but remembering that everyone around me is working hard toward their own goals will keep me motivated to do the same.

With our president’s words, “the AEC family,” in mind, I’m committed to taking pride in my work and developing into a professional who earns the trust of our clients.

Turning Uncertainty into Confidence: Finding My Voice Through Curiosity: Ms. S

When I first joined the company, I felt some uncertainty, thinking I might be assigned on-site from day one.

Looking back, I’m truly grateful for this training period which allowed me to build confidence before stepping into my role.

One of my biggest personal breakthroughs was overcoming my hesitation to speak up and ask questions.

Now, I feel more comfortable sharing my thoughts and proactively seeking clarity whenever something isn’t clear.

I’ll be starting my assignment in Sasebo at a smaller site, which I see as a great opportunity.

It will allow me to quickly understand my role and stay aware of the team around me, while taking initiative in a more hands-on way.

I’m excited to carry forward the proactive mindset I developed during training and will continue to approach each day with positivity, curiosity, and a strong sense of purpose.

Three Weeks, One Lasting Bond; Ms. K

When I accepted the offer, I didn’t expect to meet such a diverse and inspiring group of peers.

Coming from different backgrounds and life experiences, we built strong connections through our time together in training and site visits at headquarters.

The bonds we formed over these three weeks are something I will continue to value—an experience of learning from and supporting one another that I truly value.

After completing this program, I will begin a new chapter as a member of the General Affairs team at the Iwakuni office.

While it will be a different environment from headquarters, my first priority is to build strong, trusting relationships with everyone on site.

With the support of my peers and colleagues behind me, I am excited to contribute in my own way and make a positive impact.

Now Takes a New Step Forward

Each of the three now takes a new step forward. Wherever they go, the lessons and bonds they built here will continue to support them.

As they face challenges and move ahead in their own way, they inspire us as well. We truly look forward to their continued growth and success.
